Shock rockers Jack Off Jill formed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1992 and got their start touring local clubs with fellow Floridians Marilyn Manson. The band, known for their extremely raunchy live shows ("if you want to stand up front, don't wear your good clothes," advises their website), have said they like to think of themselves as a female KISS.
Composed of lead vocalist Jessicka Fodera, bassist Robin Moulder, guitarist Ho-Ho Spade (the lone male) and drummer Laura Simpson, Jack Off Jill released several 7-inch singles, including "My Cat/Swollen," which was produced by Marilyn Manson.
The band's 1st full length CD, Sexless Demons and Scars, was released in September 1997 on Ichiban Records and was followed up by a North American tour with the Lords of Acid.
The band released their second full length CD, Clear Hearts Grey Flowers, in 2000. It was followed by a long break, in which the band finally decided to split up due to management problems and issues between the band's members. This came from many things, Jack Off Jill had always had problems with their management, Risk Records, who are now out of business. It was also from irresolvable issues between Jessicka and Robin.
