Kurt Bestor is a music person known for playing piano for Jazz and New Age music. His music well known for the Arius Christmas 1, 2, 3, CD albums in the style of Mannheim Steamroller. He is also known for the songs "Prayer of the Children" and "Mama don't you Weep" He also writes movie soundtracks including "Rigoletto" and religious music for the Mormon Church and performs in Salt Lake City Utah. Kurt Bestor was influenced by John Williams Star Wars 4-6, and Jaws music. He was also influenced by Max Steiners "Gone With The Wind" and Bernard Herrmann "Vertigo" soundtracks.

(Childhood Years)

Born in 1958 in Waukesha, Wisconsin in a christian family, Kurt Bestor was taught how to play the piano by his mother when he was a kid. His uncle played in the Jack Benny band. Then in 1966 Kurt Bestors family decided to move to Orem, Utah where Kurt Bestor went to Orem High School. He played the trumpet in High School. Kurt Bestor also competed in the swimming teams. Then in 1975 Kurt Bestor watched the Steven Spielberg movie Jaws 1 and after hearing the movie soundtrack he decided that in his music Carrier he would compose movie soundtracks.

(College Years)

Then in 1977 Kurt Bestor and his family joined the Mormon Church and Kurt Bestor served a 2 year religious mission in Yugoslavia where he witnessed the poverty, the war, the people being homeless, later on he would write the song "Prayer of the Children"

After serving a 2 year mission he married his first wife Melonie. Then he decided go to the BYU University to study and make music for the students and at the Sundance Film Institute.

(Music Carreer years 1988-present)

Then in 1988 he dropped out of BYU in order to make the first Synthesizer Christmas music for cassette and CD and it marked his successful carrier in New Age, Jazz music. Then The Weather Channel decided to play Kurt Bestors Christmas music in the Locals.

Later on Kurt Bestor wrote music for the family feature movies like The Buttercream Gang, Rigoletto and other family movies. He also composed the music for Unto this end was I born. Kurt Bestor also made other albums like Christmas 1, 2, 3, Joyspring, Evening angels, Seasons. He also worked with his best friend Sam Cardon on the album Innovators 1 which featured his famous song "Prayer of the Children". He also made the CD album Sketches which included the song "Mama don't you Weep"

(Marriage and Divorce)

Then in 2000 Kurt Bestor divorced his wife Melonie and his 2 children. Which has caused problems in his Jazz, New Age music carrier. He married a second wife named Holli Ammon which he also divorced later within a few months. Later on Kurt Bestor married a third wife named Petrina with their daughter.

Even though he had problems with 2 marriages and being in the Mormon Church, he still Performs Christmas music at the Salt Lake Concert and Mormon Tabernacle Choir. In 2002 he composed music for the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympics and made Innovators 2 with Sam Cardon.
