They've been calling for Volunteers,
To fight for King and Country,
I left home at the usual time,
I hadn't told my Mother or Family,
That I was going to Victoria Barracks,
I joined a que with some other Blokes,
I was Questioned, Examined,
Filled in forms and signed my name,
When I got Home,
Having Tea with Mum, Dad and My younger Brother and Sister,
Mum asked about my day,
Mum... I've Enlisted.
