Little Mix (previously named Rhythmix) were originally the 2011 winners from The X Factor UK. The girl band members were made up of Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and formerly Jesy Nelson. They made X Factor show history by becoming "the first group" to ever take the grand prize and their winning single, Cannonball (a cover of Damien Rice's ballad) was released digitally the morning after they won.
On August 4th 2012, the girls released their first single, Wings which went to #1 in the UK and Ireland as well as charting in various countries (Australia and US - just to name a few).
Their debut album, DNA , along with singles such as the previously mentioned track, title track DNA, Change Your Life and How Ya Doin'? (this song was later re-released featuring artist, Missy Elliott). DNA resulted in Little Mix breaking records and earning the highest chart debut position by a British girl group on Billboard - taking out its predecessor, the Spice Girls!
On December 14th 2020, Jesy Nelson decided to leave the group, citing personal reasons which a year later, it was revealed that she was working on her own solo artist material.
In 2021, Leigh-Anne, Perrie and Jade collectively released an album titled, Between Us , in celebration of being in "Little Mix" for the past decade. It was uncertain at the time of the album's release that they were to continue on however all three members have currently decided to go on hiatus.
