AboutMikaila Dominique Enriquez (born December 15, 1986), known as Mikaila, is a former American singer and actress from Edmond, Oklahoma, best known for her role as Melina Finch in Wishbone.
It was right in the early noughties where the teen pop revival was at its height in the likes of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera as Mikaila herself was another upcoming singer trying to break through onto the music scene.
Previously she had released two albums - "This Little Light" (1996) and "Dreams" (1997) with Union Records. At age 13, she then signed a record deal with Island Records which she began working on a 'pop' record.
In 2000, Mikaila was lucky enough to be a headlining act on Spear's Oops!... I Did It Again tour as well as sing at the Jingle Ball that same year.
Her debut single, So In Love With Two did gain traction which went to #29 on the Rhythmic Top 40 Billboard chart, #25 on the Billboard Hot 100, and #27 on Billboard's Top 40 Mainstream.
In 2001, she released her third self-titled album, Mikaila which resulted in mixed reviews from music critics due to the over-saturation of teen pop in the music market around this time. AllMusic's Jon Azpiri awarded the album three out of five stars and commended Mikaila for bringing "a much-needed dose of hip-hop to the teen pop genre" but criticizing the ballads as "obligatory". The final single off the album, It's All Up To You failed to chart, which made Mikaila come to a decision to retire from acting and the music industry altogether shortly after the release of her final album, "Mikaila (Spanish Version)". Mikaila left Island Records in 2002 to move with her family to Sun City, Arizona.
