OmDanny Kaye (1911-1987) is an American comedian actor, singer and dancer and has the ability to tongue twist. He is best known for Hollywood movies including "Up in Arms" 1944, "Wonder Man", "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" 1947, "The Inspector General" 1949, "The Court Jester" 1955, "White Christmas" 1954, "Merry Andrew" 1958, "The Five Pennies" 1959 and many other comedy musical movies. He is also well known for for the TV show "The Danny Kaye Show" 1963-67 and for "The Wonderful World of Disney" 1982 for a song "Hooray for the 21st Century". He's also known for his hobbies including flying airplanes in 1959, cooking meals as a chef, being a Baseball Manager for the Seattle team from 1977-81, working as an ambassador for a charity group called the UNICEF and is best known for working in the hospital as a surgeon.

Danny Kaye was born on January 18, 1911 in Brooklyn, New York USA. to Jewish parents. Danny Kaye attended school at East New York, Brooklyn. and then when he was a teenager he attended Thomas Jefferson High School, in that school he would often tell jokes and sing to his High School friends. Danny Kaye later dropped out of High School and his mother died. Later on Danny Kaye and his friend Louis both ran away from home to Florida to perform music with Louis playing the Guitar while Danny sang to people. Later on Danny returned home to his father. His father gave Danny a chance to make his own choices with his life.
(Job Career years)
During the Great Depression era. Danny Kaye often struggled to find a job to work at. He worked at the Malt restaurant as a soda jerk, Insurance Investigator, Office clerk, and at the Dentist office but he got fired from those jobs because he got into trouble at work.
Later on in 1933 he joined the troupe called "Three Terpsichoreans" in New York where he got to dance and perform for people in North America and then in Asia.
One Day on February 8, 1934 Danny and his performers were staying at at a hotel in Osaka, Japan when the Hurricane struck and put Danny Kaye in danger in getting crushed by a building piece. Danny survived the Hurricane and the power went out. Danny Kaye went out in the streets to perform for the Japaneses survivors in the evening using a flashlight and sang very loud from every song he could remember even though he couldn't speak Japanese.
Later on Danny Kaye took an interest in cooking after he entertained the Chinese waiter. When Danny Kaye returned to North America, he struggled to find work again but found a job in fan dancing.

In 1935 Danny Kaye found work in Hollywood California in a black and white comedy short "Moon Over Manhattan" and made other film shorts. But in 1938 the Education Pictures shut down and Danny Kaye went to Broadway to be in a play called "The Straw Hat Revue" where he met his girlfriend Sylvia Fine who's best known for playing the piano and composing music. Danny Kaye was in the Broadway musical "Lady in the Dark" 1940 that he gained reputation for being a comedian and a singer. Danny Kaye later got married to Sylvia Fine in 1940 and his wife helped him manage his acting career. He was also in the Broadway play "Let's Face it" He also had a daughter born in 1946 named Dena.
In 1942 Samuel Goldwyn from the MGM company was trying for 2 years to get Danny Kaye in a movie which Danny finally agreed to. His first comedy movie was "Up in Arms" 1944 which was a successful movie. Goldwyn wanted Danny Kaye to dye his red hair blond and fix his nose but Danny refused to fix his nose but agreed to have his red hair dyed for the Hollywood movies. Later on he was in the Comedy movie "Wonder Man" 1945 which won an academy award and nominated for best picture, best music, best special effects.
He was also in the movie "The Kid from Brooklyn" 1946 and was also in "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" 1947 singing "Anatole of Paris", And "Symphony for an Unstrung Tongue". (Later on this movie would be remade in 2013.)
Also Danny Kaye was in "A Song was Born" 1948 with Benny Goodman, "It's "The Inspector General" 1949 singing "The Inspector General" and "Happy Times", "On the Riviera" 1951, "Hans Christian Andersen" 1952, "Knock on Wood" 1954, "White Christmas with Bing Crosby. He was also in the comedy musical movie "The Court Jester" 1955, performing songs "Life could not better be", "Outfox the Fox", "The Maladjusted Jester". He was also in "Merry Andrew" 1958, Me and the Colonel 1958 focusing on World War 2, "The Five Pennies" 1959 with Louis Armstrong. "On the Double" 1961, "The Man from the Diner's Club" 1963, "The Madwoman of Chaillot" 1969.
Danny Kaye also was in the music career singing songs like "Minnie the Moocher", a song called "Civilization (Bongo, Bongo, Bongo)" for "The Andrew Sisters" which helped his music career. He also performed in the Daffy Duck cartoon "Book Revue" 1946 with a song "Carolina in the Morning". He also performed a song for "Woody the Woodpecker" 1950s cartoon. He also had a radio program for CBS called "The Danny Kaye Show" from 1945-1946.
In 1956 Danny Kaye decided to work for UNICEF a charity group helping children with disabilities and entertaining them and would continue his work until his death in 1987.
In 1963 Danny Kaye launched a CBS TV show called "The Danny Kaye show" 1963-67 which won him many awards but the show was cancelled in 1967 due to the TV show Bonanza which was popular at the time. He was also in "The Lucy Show", He was a voice actor in "Here comes Peter Cottontail" 1971 In the 1970s Danny Kaye had an accident with his leg getting torn and was in a wheelchair but he recovered. He was in Pinocchio (1976) musical and Peter Pan (1976) musical. He was also a guest star in TV shows including "The Muppet Show", he also appeared on "The Wonderful World of Disney" in Disneyland and Walt Disney World with the song "Hooray for the 21st Century". He also was in "Skokie" a World War 2 TV movie, he was also a guest star in "The Twilight Zone" 1985 and his final guest star appearance in "The Cosby Show" as a dentist.
