OAdrian & the Mysterious D (A Plus D) were an American DJ duo who helped popularize mashup and bootleg music in America. The duo consisted of Adrian Roberts and Deidre Roberts. Based in San Francisco, the duo founded the Bootie club night in 2003, the first mashup bootleg party in the United States. In 2005, they started a sister Bootie club in Los Angeles, and in 2007, launched Bootie parties in New York City and Paris, and in 2008, Munich and Boston. Bootie Mashup parties and one-offs in other cities followed.
Under their mashup producer moniker, A Plus D, they created dozens of mashups between 2004-2012, often utilizing underground and alternative artists for their creations.
They were nominated twice – 2004 and 2006 – in the "Best DJ" category in the SF Weekly Music Awards and in 2012 won a local "Nitey" award in San Francisco for "Best Club Promoter."
During their 15-year career, they staged "The A+D Show" several times at the DNA Lounge, a multimedia mashup show that mixed DJing with video and live performance.
The duo also toured Europe and Asia many times, with gigs in London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Munich, Copenhagen, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Sydney.
In early 2018, Mysterious D left Bootie Mashup to pursue other business interests, leaving Adrian A as the sole owner of the brand.

Known mostly as the couple who helped bring mashup culture to America, the duo have forged a reputation as crowd-pleasing selectors who not only shamelessly bridge the gap between genres, but between the alternative and the mainstream. This is best evidenced by the success of their club Bootie, the first mashup bootleg party in the United States. Launched in San Francisco in 2003, Bootie has attracted mashup DJs from around the globe, and last year, opened a sister club in Los Angeles, further solidifying the DJ couple's renown as pioneers of the American mashup scene.
When they're not huddled over a hot PowerBook playing with Ableton Live, or digital crate-digging for the latest bastard pop creations, the duo can be found at various parties, mixing an eclectic blend of electro, pop, rock, hip-hop, indie dance rock, and whatever else moves a dance floor. Quite simply, they know how to bring the party. They have played such events as private parties for the Scissor Sisters, gigs alongside Peaches and Princess Superstar, as well as spinning at events featuring artists from Lady Sovereign to Nina Hagen to The Killers. The duo have also played overseas, with gigs in London, Amsterdam, and Paris.
As mashup artists – working under their bootlegger moniker, A Plus D, the duo have seen their underground creations reach wide appeal. Their infamous Le Tigre vs. Missy Elliott bootleg, "Decepta-Freak-On," was not only hosted on Le Tigre's own web site, but was named one of the Top 11 Essential Mash-ups in Sarah "Ultragrrrl" Lewitinn's book, The Pocket DJ, and continues to get significant airplay on Sirius satellite radio. Most recently, their Kanye West vs. Beethoven disco mashup, "Beethoven's Fifth Gold Digger," was added into the rotation as the "Mashup of the Week" on San Francisco alternative radio station Live105.
