SobrePacifique was a French band from Toulouse, France, formed in 1988. The 3 members were bassist/composer Christophe Després (born on June 20, 1964 in Toulouse), keyboardist/lyricist Stéphane Després (born on March 18, 1962 in Toulouse) & singer Kati aka Katy Nozeran (real name Catherine Lajous, born on March 15, 1966 in Saint-Gaudens).
Beginnings (1986/1987)
In 1986, Catherine released the 7" "Tout Est Littérature" under the name Cathy. The same year, Christophe & Stéphane composed for the band Images. In 1987, they were part of the quartet Alix, who released the 7" "Cœur Sans Adresse".
The Pacifique years (1988/1993)
In 1988, the trio released their debut 7" on Carrere, "Sur Les Ailes Des Alizés". In 1989, their first hit has been "Quand Tu Serres Mon Corps", followed by "Sans Un Remords" in 1990. Another single from their debut album has been "Another Love In L.A.". The trio released 2 albums, California & Pacifique. After the failure of the latter, the band split. However, in 2001, the trio reunited for Kati's song "À Demi-Frère", covered by Ève Angeli as "Ma Prière" the following year.
