AboutShania Twain is one of the most successful country music artists of all time. She was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, on August 28, 1965, and grew up in Timmins, Ontario, with her parents and four siblings. Twain's childhood was not an easy one - her parents divorced when she was young, and she and her siblings often had to go without basic necessities like food and heat. However, she developed a love for music from a young age and would often sing in bars with her mother.

Twain's big break came in the early 1990s when she signed a record deal with Mercury Nashville Records. Her self-titled debut album, "Shania Twain," was released in 1993 and received critical acclaim. The album, however, did not perform well commercially, and Twain was dropped by her label.

Undeterred, Twain continued to write and record music and was soon signed to a new record label, Mercury Nashville Records. Her second album, "The Woman in Me," was released in 1995 and was a huge commercial success. It won the Grammy Award for Best Country Album and sold over 12 million copies in the United States alone.

Twain's third album, "Come On Over," was released in 1997 and is her best-selling album to date. It has sold over 40 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling country music album of all time. The album spawned several hit singles, including "You're Still the One," "From This Moment On," and "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!"

Her fourth album, "Up!," was released in 2002 and was also a commercial success, selling over 20 million copies worldwide. It included hit singles such as "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!" and "Forever and for Always."

Twain took a break from music after her fourth album to focus on her personal life. She had been married to record producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange since 1993, and the couple had a son named Eja in 2001. However, their marriage came to an end in 2010 when it was revealed that Lange had been having an affair with Twain's best friend.

Twain made a comeback with her fifth studio album, "Now," which was released in 2017. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and was well-received by critics. It showcased a more introspective and personal side of Twain, with songs about her struggles with her divorce and Lyme disease, a condition she contracted after being bitten by a tick in 2003.

In addition to her music career, Twain has also acted in several films and television shows, including "I Heart Huckabees" and "Broad City." She has won numerous awards throughout her career, including five Grammy Awards, 27 BMI Songwriter Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
