AboutSilmarils is a funk/hip-hop/metal band from Ivry-Sur-Seine, France. David Salsedo (lead singer), Brice Montessuit (trumpet), Aymeric Moneste (drums), Jimi Daurs (guitar) & Jean-Pierre Martins (saxo) started in 1989 in high school. Satisfied by the party, they performed in Parisian bars, joined by Côme (bass). Peter Murray produced the band's debut album Silmarils, released in 1995. Their first single "Cours Vite", which video has been censored, became a metal hit in France, between Noir Désir & NTM.
In 1997, their second album Original Karma came out. In 2000, they released Vegas 76, including the hit "Va Y Avoir Du Sport", followed by 4 Life in 2003.
Lead singer David Salsedo wrote "Je N'Veux Pas Rester Sage" & "Partir Seule" from Dolly's debut album, he also produced Superbus' albums Aéromusical & Pop'N'Gum. He is also the songwriter of Johnny Hallyday's "Ma Vérité". His debut album Wine & Pasta came out in 2008.
