OmAshley Michelle Tisdale is an actress, singer-songwriter best known for her roles as Maddie on the Disney Channel series The Suite Life of Zack and Cody from 2005 to 2008; as well as Sharpay in the Disney Channel Original Movie franchise High School Musical [2006] (movie) (along with its sequels - High School Musical 2 [2007] (movie), High School Musical 3: Senior Year [2008] (movie) and Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure [2011] (movie)) - which were all directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega. The first HSM movie premiered in January 2006 and was the highest-rated telecast in Disney Channel history.
Tisdale herself also made music history by becoming the first female artist to ever debut with two songs simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 chart; with Bop To The Top and What I've Been Looking For - both duets with co-star Lucas Grabeel that were featured on the RIAA triple-platinum certified High School Musical movie soundtrack.
Ashley had previously been signed to Warner Bros. Records which began with her rendition of Kiss The Girl that was featured on the re-release/special edition DVD of Disney's The Little Mermaid [1989] (movie). Ashley then recorded and released two studio albums: Headstrong in 2007 (debuted at #5 on the US Billboard 200 chart) and Guilty Pleasure in 2009.
Her other acting credits include a featured role in the film "Donnie Darko" with Jake Gyllenhaal, Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Duval. She was a series regular on "Nathan's Choice," "Mayor of Oyster Bay" and "The Howie Mandel Pilot," and had recurring roles on "The George Lopez Show," "Still Standing" and "The Hughleys." Guest star roles include "Grounded for Life," "Strong Medicine," "Boston Public" and 7th Heaven [1996] (tv show), "Malcolm in the Middle," Charmed [1998] (tv show), Hannah Montana [2006] (tv show), "Once and Again" and "Saturday Night Live".
On the animated front, Ashley has done work in voice-acting as Camille Leon on Disney Channel's Kim Possible [2002] (movie) and notably known as the voice of Candice, one of the lead characters in the Disney Channel animated series Phineas And Ferb from 2007 till 2015.
In 2013, Ashley released a single titled You're Always Here, in tribute to her late grandfather which was written by her husband, Chris French whom she wed in September 2014.
In 2018, Tisdale signed a new record deal with Big Noise Music Group and released her third studio album, titled Symptoms the following year.
