AboutNote: This is NOT the Aardvarks from Muskegon, Michigan, but is instead a band that was from Brooklyn Center, Minnesota (a suburb of Minneapolis) from 1962 to 1965. One of the members (Dave Waggoner) went on to form Jokers Wild, South 40, and then finally Crow, who had a hit in 1969 with "Evil Woman."
1966 rare crude Garage Psych. Super, SUPER crude lo-fi teen idol garage punk with one side upbeat, the other not so much. "Josephine" is a pretty cool garage pop dancer that sounds like it hasn't come within twenty feet of a mixing board, while "Reminiscing" is an even cruder, slow echoed-out bit of teen idol teardrops, heavy on the twang and the wrist-slashing "You don't love me anymore but I'll get over you anyway" heartbreak. The vocalist even adopts Buddy Holly's hiccupping vocal style. Not so much "reminiscing" here as much as writing his own suicide letter. Pure downer heaven.
