AboutThe Blackout are a band formed in 2003 in South Wales and drawing influences from across the board, they combine heavy crunching guitars, riffs, screams and thunderous drumbeats with beautiful melody and emotional driven vocals.
The first album recorded was Pull No Punches, but it has never been released.
The band has played shows in and around the UK with the likes of Lostprophets, Funeral for a Friend, Fightstar, Avenged Sevenfold, dredg, 18 Visions, Thrice and Hidden in Plain View as well as opening up 'Give It A Name Festival' in April 2006. and playing at it in both 2008 and 2009
They were also nominated at the 2006 Kerrang Awards for Best British Newcomer but lost out to Bring Me The Horizon.
The Blackout released their debut mini album entitled 'The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout!' on October 23rd 2006 through Fierce Panda Records and the first single taken from it was 'Hard Slammin'. Important thing: it's a mini album, NOT an EP!
The album 'We Are The Dynamite' was released on October 1st 2007 through Fierce Panda Records. It was the first full lenght by the band.
Their second full-lenght album, "The Best In Town" was released in the UK on May 25th 2009; the tracks 'ShutTheFuckUppercut' and 'Children of the Night' were available for early preview.
the latest album is named Hope and is released in 2011. the first single from the album was Higher & Higher.
