American indie rock band based in Cincinnati, OH. After several changes, the current members Kevin Ray, Sean Waugaman, and Eli Maiman joined Lead singer Nicholas Petricca, who first started the band in 2008.
The band's name WALK THE MOON is inspired by track 6 on the 1979 album by The Police, Reggatta de Blanc, titled Walking on the Moon.
WTM signed with Mick Management in Feb 2011, then released their self-titled first official studio album with RCA Records in June 2012.
In December 2014, the band released their second studio album, Talking Is Hard, which includes the hit "Shut Up and Dance." To date, the single has charted at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on Billboard's Rock Songs chart and Billboard's Alternative Songs chart.
